Frequently Asked Questions

What does “under the umbrella of ABA” mean?

ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) is a broad field of science, and we use a range of strategies from that umbrella—like natural environment teaching, play-based learning, and skill-building routines. We focus on what works best for your child and your family, not a one-size-fits-all model.

How do I know which therapy model is right for us?

We offer both BCBA-direct therapy and a tiered model. After an initial consultation, we’ll work together to decide which approach best fits your child’s needs, your comfort level, and what works for your daily life.

What makes Perspective Learning different from other ABA providers?

We’re a small, local practice with a big heart. That means fewer clients, more personalized care, and a commitment to dignity and collaboration. We don’t believe in “cookie cutter” therapy—our plans grow with your child.

What if my child doesn’t respond well to traditional ABA?

That’s exactly why we take a flexible, individualized approach. We incorporate natural teaching strategies and developmental science to find what feels good and works best for your child. We’re not here to push a rigid model—we’re here to support your family.

What is the difference between BCBA-direct and tiered services?

With BCBA-direct therapy, your child works one-on-one with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. In a tiered model, trained team members provide therapy under close BCBA supervision. Both are effective—what’s best depends on your goals, comfort, and how involved you’d like to be.

My child was just diagnosed—where do I start?

Start by reaching out. We’ll set up a conversation to learn more about your family, answer your questions, and walk you through the steps—from understanding services to insurance and what early intervention might look like for your child.

How involved are parents in therapy?

Parent involvement is essential. We coach, support, and collaborate with you so that what your child learns in sessions carries over into everyday life—making progress more consistent and meaningful.

What if I'm unsure about ABA or have concerns?

You’re not alone—many families come to us with questions about ABA. We believe in open, honest conversations and a transparent approach. We’ll take time to walk you through what we do, why we do it, and how we tailor it to honor your child’s individuality.
